Holt Elementary MMMC donations : From the principal, Mr. Kelly Campbell: Last year, we wrote a grant for MISD Education Foundation entitled Making a Difference. The grant paid for materials used to create a large painting on a 5'x5' canvass and titled "Friends Helping Friends" which was painted by last year's kindergarten and 1st grade students. The grant also paid for a set of hardcover, full-color books, written by our own 2nd and 3rd graders for young children that are at the hospital, to read with an adult.

Spelling Bee Champ tours Methodist Mansfield Health Center : On Thursday, April 2, 2009, Coble Middle School student Liz Adetiba had the opportunity to tour the Methodist Mansfield Medical Center's Cardio/Pulmonary area. Adetiba won the Star-Telegram's Regional Spelling Bee and will go on to compete in the National Spelling Bee in May. During an interview with the local media, Adetiba indicated she aspires to be a cardiologist when she grows up. MMHC was kind enough to offer Liz a first-class tour of their facilities.

JPS School-Based Health Center - Mansfield Dedication : Dedication of JPS School-Based Health Center- Mansfield JPS Health Network is celebrating its continued commitment to providing excellent health care to students and siblings in Tarrant County. The new school-based health center, which is now open in Mansfield, is expecting approximately 3,600 visits per year. The facility is available to students attending Mansfield ISD, as well as their younger siblings. This school-based health center is the 14th for JPS. Typical services offered include treatment for sore throats and colds, immunizations, school physicals, and assessment and treatment of minor injuries. Students with no insurance pay $5 per visit. For students with insurance or some other coverage, applicable co-pays apply.
